A crowd of Nigerians gathered at the airport under two large banners. Many waved brooms, the party emblem of the ruling All Progressives Congress.

There was also drumming and dancing as a sizeable mass welcomed their president.

President Buhari will confer with his Ghanaian counterpart, President John Dramani Mahama, on bilateral relations, regional security, trade.

Buhari won a closely contested presidential poll in March, which recorded a democratic first as an opposition party won power from the ruling party through voting.

The Nigerian president, who on September 5 marked his first 100 days in office, has recently published his assets.
