Breaking News: Tribunal Upholds Bukola Saraki’s Election

The election petition tribunal sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, has upheld the election of Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, as the duly elected Senator representing Kwara Central constituency.
The judgment in favour of Saraki was delivered today even as the screening of ministerial nominees was ongoing at the upper chamber.

Saraki who is also facing a 13-count corruption charge at the Code of Conduct Bureau shared the news of his victory at the tribunal on social media.

The two-term governor of Kwara state was accused to have forged his election results in connivance with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He was dragged before the tribunal by Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who finished as runner-up to Saraki.
