PDP Assures Mark Of Victory In Senatorial Rerun Poll

The immediate past Senate president, David Mark, whose election to the Senate was annulled by the Court of Appeal has been given the assurance by his Peoples Democratic party that it is solidly behind him his quest to return back to the Senate.

This assurance was made by the spokesman, Olisa Metuh, on Monday, November 30, when he spoke to journalists.

Metuh explained that Mark is ‘an asset to the nation’.   The PDP mouthpiece noted that the party and the people of Benue south were solidly behind Mark in forthcoming senatorial rerun poll.

He stressed that the people from zone are dogged members of the PDP since 1999 and will keep faith with Mark during the rerun election.

The PDP spokesman said Mark has made: “significant contributions’ of Sen. Mark in growing and stabilising the nation’s democracy through his ‘’mature, responsible and patriotic leadership of the Senate.’’ “He is a value that is still highly needed in the polity.”

Metuh pleaded with the people not to be intimidated in their determination in ensuring that Mark returned to the Senate.

Meanwhile, Senator Mark had called for calm sequel to the nullification of his election by a Court Of Appeal in Makurdi.

He urged his constituents to remain calm and be law abiding, even as he boasted that “if we go back to the polls 100 times, I will still win convincingly”.
