Oshiomhole is in excellent shape and hearty, says aide

Today (Sunday) marks the ninth day the governor last spoke publicly before the accident that occurred at Ewu, a long slope on the Benin—Auchi— Okene—Abuja Highway notorious for accidents that have killed a lot of people. He reportedly travelled abroad afterwards.

Governor Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole is healthy, hale, hearty and just fine. He is not receiving any treatment abroad, according to Edo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Louis Odion.

Odion spoke exclusively on his mobile telephone on Saturday afternoon to Sunday Mirror correspondent in Benin City following heightened tension in the state over the health of the governor, who is yet to make any public appearance inside or outside Nigeria since an accident that involved his convoy penultimate Saturday.

But his spokesman said the governor would preside over the weekly state cabinet meeting holding at the Government House tomorrow, Monday. Odion, who claimed to have met Oshiomhole abroad before returning to the country during the week, said the governor should have been back from his journey by the weekend.

He explained that the rumour of the governor’s ill-health was just being flown by his enemies to create confusion and destabilize the government. Odion, a journalist, clarified, “Quote me, the governor is hale and hearty.

He is fine. He did not sustain any injury as his enemies are claiming and we could not have lied that he did not sustain any injury if he actually sustained any injury.

It (the rumour) is the handiwork of those that want him to die.”
