ACF vows to seek redress over killing of 35 IMN members

►The Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, has promised to seek redress over the alleged killing of 35 members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, IMN, by soldiers in Zaria, Kaduna State, about three months ago.

►The forum made this known when its members paid a condolence visit to the IMN yesterday.

Those killed included three sons of the Zaria-based leader of the IMN otherwise known as Shi’ite, Sheik Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.

The leader of the ACF delegation, Ambassador Adamu Muhammed who spoke in an interview with Chat212 during the visit said that the ACF would continue to engage the government until justice was done in the matter.

‘’We will not fold our arms and see innocent lives being lost for no just cause,” he said.

Earlier, the Secretary General, ACF, Colonel John Uba, rtd, in a letter of condolence, sympathized with the movement over the tragic incident.

“ ACF sympathizes with deep sense of grief the tragic attack on the congregation of your followers which resulted in the death of three of your sons and many of your devoted followers,” he said, pointing out that, ‘’their death at this material time has no doubt deprived you and indeed the rest of the family very dear and promising off-springs as well as the company of trusted confidants.”

Responding, Sheik El-Zakzaky said that the soldiers who shot his members disguised in his sect’s uniform to blackmail the law abiding members of the sect.

He emphasized that the sect had never carried arms since its 40 years existence, noting that “whenever firearm was used, was not from the sect.”
