The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has in a statement published on Wednesday revealed that thirty-four ships loaded with petroleum products, food items and other goods are expected at the Apapa and Tin-Can Island ports in Lagos between June 24 and July 15.
The statement was contained in the Authority’s daily publication made available to journalists in Lagos on.
The document stated that the expected ships are laden with general cargo, steel products, bulk rice, buckwheat, diesel, fresh fish, ethanol, containers, crude palm oil, kerosene and used vehicles.
Further in the statement, the Ports Authority stated that already, eight other ships had arrived at the ports waiting to discharge bulk rice, general cargo, diesel, kerosene, aviation fuel and petrol.
However, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), 23 other ships at the ports are discharging buckwheat, general cargo, steel products, bulk sugar, bulk soya and rice.
The publication also stated that other ships were discharging fresh fish, clincker, petrol, kerosene, diesel and buthane.
Recently, Nigeria experienced fuel scarcity across the nation.
