Confirmed reports from England have it that Chelsea goalkeeper, Petr Cech has agreed personal terms with Arsenal and will undergo a medical at Emirates today.
According to BBC Sport, both London clubs have reportedly agreed a fee and the 33-year-old has agreed personal terms to make the Czech Republic international Arsenal’s first summer signing.
Cech fell down the pecking order at Chelsea since the arrival of Belgium international Thibaut Courtois, 23, a major reason the champions league winner, with one year left on his deal, decided to look elsewhere.
The EPL winner played only 16 times for the Blues last season and had been at Stamford Bridge 11 years, a period in which he made more than 300 Chelsea appearances and won four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups, one Champions League and one Europa League title.
Cech’s arrival will further fuel speculations on the future of young goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczesny, who was also penalised by Arsene Wenger last season for smoking publicly.
