Aregbesola finally responds...
Finally, the Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola broke the silence, replied the petition written against him by Justice Folahanmi Oloyede.
It would be recalled that Justice Folahanmi had written a petition against the Governor accusing him for alleged financial recklessness. The Osun state House of Assembly had earlier forwarded a copy of the petition to the governor, waiting for his response.
But, the House Speaker has confirmed that the Governor has responded to the petition, adding that the House is ready to address the petition. He also said that, an investigative committee has been set up, which will thoroughly investigate the matter. He however promised to be fair in all the investigations.
Meanwhile, a Groups in the state had kicked against the petition, argued that, the governor was not guilty of the allegation filed against him by Justice Oloyede. It then called on the State House of Assembly to ignore the petition. It also added that, the situation in Osun was due to the crash in the price of crude oil during President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration which led to the reduction in the revenue allocation given to the state.
