It was claimed in a report that the Former Minister for Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala have been secretly co-operating with the present administration fish out the people behind the multi-billion dollars misappropriation during Jonathan’s administration. The report stated that Dr. Ngozi Okonjo –Iweala have handed over to Buhari a list of corrupt deal approved by Goodluck Jonathan.
It was stated in the report that, “In an attempt to curry favor with the new government, Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala recently directed officials of her polling agency, NOI Polls, to give President Buhari a 70 per cent approval rating among Nigerians.” But it was also reported that another professional pollster told US-based news platform that, “The polling results were simply cooked up.” The professional pollster also noted that “prior to the 2015 general elections, the former minister’s fake polling organization kept repeating that Mr. Jonathan approval rating was up even as his political fortune plummeted.”
It was also learnt from the report that the former Minister of Petroleum Resource, Diezani Alison-Madueke, is also co-operating with Buhari administration. Madueke was said to have made a deal with the government to submit documents to the EFCC, documents that will expose her collaborators at the NNPC.
This report gathered from online news platform also reported that, “The former Petroleum minister, who was one of the closest cabinet members to Mr. Jonathan—and the mastermind of numerous money laundering deals on behalf of the former president—currently shuttles between the United Kingdom and Switzerland. A source close to Mrs. Alison-Madueke said the former minister was receiving treatment in the UK related to breast cancer.”
It was gathered that the former President also have been sending emissaries to Buhari in Abuja. Report have it that Goodluck Jonathan had sent Emeka Anyaoku, former Commonwealth Secretary General to Buhari, after the Buhari administration began to question the massive last-minute withdrawals of more than $20 billion in government funds. An act which was orchestrated by former President Jonathan and his closest ministers and aides.
Jonathan have been sending powerful intercessors to President Buhari. it was reported that Emeka Anyaoku pleaded with the President to remember Jonathan intentionally did not contest the presidential election result in court, based on the believe that he will not be probe later.
