Ahmadu Ali in trouble as PDP disowns him over N70m debt
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has disowned it former National Chairman, Ahmadu Ali over a debt worth N70M.
Ahmadu Ali, who was the former director general of Peoples Democratic Party 2015 Presidential Campaign Organisation, entered a contract worth N70 million with Silon Concepts Limited.
Ali on behalf of the Jonathan-Sambo campaign organisation, asked the company to broadcast promotional campaign messages for their presidential candidate.
The service was provided, as the company claimed to have sent messages to 60 million registered eligible voters, but the PDP presidential candidate, Goodluck Jonathan lost the election to the All Progressive Congress candidate, President Muhammodu Buhari.
Following it defeat, PDP and it campaign organization refuse to pay up the balance to the Silon Concepts. So the company dragged the the PDP, Mr. Ali to court, accusing them of refusing to pay up the balance for the service rendered.
Silon Concepts, through it counsel, also pray the court to compel the party to pay the outstanding N70M balance for services rendered and also to pay N15 million as legal bills for the suit.
However, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, through it counsel, said that,it has nothing to do with the contract. It argued that, the party has nothing to do with the Zenith account number through which the campaign organisation made payment for its activities.
According to the party, the account number belong to Jointrust Dimension Nigeria Limited, with Mrs. Usman as the sole signatory. Though, Mr. Ali and Mrs. Usman are members of our party, but they were not responsible for approval of any multi-million naira transaction before and after the presidential elections. As far as the contract with Silon Concept is concern, the party has nothing to do with it, the counsel declared.
