The All Progressives Congress has been advised to respect the stand of President Muahammdu Buhari on the emergence Dr. Bukola Saraki as the Senate President.

APC Senator, Senator Dino Melaye while reacting to crisis rocking his party, All Progressive Congress, APC and the National Assembly over the emergence of Dr. Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara as the Senate President and the Speaker of House of Representative respectively, said the party should respect Buhari’s view on the matter.

Meanwhile, since the crisis began, Mr. President has always maintained on party supremacy on the matter.

It would be recalled that, the APC choices on the leadership of Senate President and Speaker of the House are Senator Ahmed Lawan and Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila respectively. Dr Bukola and Dogara emergence are contrary to the party choice.

Senator Melaye, who probably was referring to a statement made by Buhari’s SA on Media and Publicity on twitter, in which he said that, the President was willing to work with whom so ever the lawmakers elected. Melaye said since Mr. President has no preference on who emerge the leaders of the National Assembly, and that he is ready work with whom so ever emerge the winner, APC should have respected that fact, and uphold Buhari’s view.

Melaye also said he had no regret supporting Bukola to achieve his Senate Presidency ambition. Adding that Bukola’s choice is the best for the party and for Nigeria as a whole. He added that he would never support any anti-party activity.
