Senator Thompson Sekibo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) representing Rivers state, has allayed fears that former governor of Rivers state, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi would not be screened today.
Speaking ahead of today’s screening and approval of Amaechi’s ministerial nomination, Sekibo noted that the party has no right whatsoever to ask the Senate not to go ahead with the screening.
In a brief chat on NTA this morning, he said: “there is a difference between him being screened and being approved.
“What we pray is with the senate and I will not repeat it. But if his name is listed among those to be screened today, then nothing and nobody can stop that from happening.”
Meanwhile, the Senate has revealed that the former governor will be screened today as facts also emerged a few minutes ago, that he was sighted within the complex of the National Assembly.
