Gov Shettima, Nigerian Army Disagree Over Boko Haram’s Captures Of LGAs

Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima, has revealed that Boko Haram militants are occupying two local governments in his state, contrary to the impression that the militants are not in control of any Nigerian territory.

But the Nigerian army has since disagreed with the governor on his revelation.

The local councils under effective boko Haram occupation are Abbadam and Mobar.

Breaking News: Dozens Feared Dead As Bomb Blast Hits Another Mosque Again

Few hours after suicide bomber struck at a mosque in Maiduguri, another bombing has been reported in a mosque in Jimeta area of Yola the Adamawa state capital.

The explosion happened as worshippers were observing the weekly Jumaat service, and scored of worshippers are feared dead and wounded.

“They planted the bomb inside the mosque and many lives were lost in the attack, because of the number of worshipers there,” the source said.

Breaking News: Suicide Bomber Attacks Maiduguri Mosque

A suicide bomber supposed to be a member of the deadly Boko Haram sect has attacked a mosque in Maiduguri, Borno state.

The onslaught occurred early today, October 23, as Muslims gather at a mosque to observe morning prayers in the old GRA area in the troubled city.

According to Sahara Reporters a yet to be determined number of Muslim worshippers have been killed.

BREAKING NEWS! Female Suicide Bombers Attack Maiduguri Again, 22 Confirmed Dead

No fewer than 22 people have been confirmed dead following a Boko Haram attack on a community in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.

According to Vanguard, the attack was carried out by three female suicide bombers, who detonated their bombs in the community this morning.

The bombers reportedly attacked the Umarari Bayan Waya area of Mulai Village in Maiduguri with Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), injuring 17 others injured.

AT LAST... Troops Kill Terrorists In Kogi State, Geidam

There was a heavy gun battle between Nigerian troops and some suspected terrorists at about 5.30am on Tuesday, October 13, at the general area of Enike Mosque, Okene town, Kogi state.

Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, the acting director army public relations, in a statement said the troops were on a cordon and search operations in the area when the suspected terrorists attacked them.

'Huge Explosions' Rock Maiduguri, Killed Dozens - Red Cross

Three blasts hit the city of Maiduguri in northeast Nigeria on Tuesday, October 14, killing at least seven people, locals and the Red Cross said.

The “huge explosions” happened in the Ajilari Cross area of the city, the AFP reports. The area has been targeted by similar attacks twice in the last month, including on September 20 when at least 117 were killed.

JUST IN: Army Warns Boko Haram "Surrender Now Or Face Consequences"

The Nigerian Army has again warned members of Boko Haram terrorist group to surrender and face the law as failure to do so will result in serious consequences for insurgents.
The warning is contained in a statement signed by Col. Sani Usman, the acting Director Army Public Relations, a copy of which was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Sunday.
