Rivers state All Progressives Congress (APC) has described President Muhammadu Buhari as a better son of the Niger Delta than the immediate past president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.

Nigeria To Produce Arms To Fight Boko Haram

Nigeria Ministry of Defence may produce own weapons to fight the deadly Boko Haram sect according to the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Buhari has ordered the ministry to produce a plan for the establishment of a military industrial complex for the local production of weapons for the use of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

Police arraign lecturer for raping 18-year-old admission seeker

The police on Thursday arraigned a part-time lecturer, Afeez Baruwa, for allegedly raping an 18-year-old admission seeker.

PUNCH had reported on Thursday that Baruwa took the victim, who was seeking admission into the University of Lagos, Akoka, inside a study room, where he allegedly raped her.

Our correspondent had reported that the victim’s father, who belonged to the same landlords’ association with Baruwa in the Abesan, Ipaja area, had allowed his daughter to follow the suspect, on July 23, to UNILAG for an admission process.

Hundreds flee as Boko Haram guns down villagers in Yobe

Boko Haram Islamists shot dead at least nine people and set homes on fire in a raid on two villages in conflict-hit northeastern Nigeria, fleeing residents told AFP on Thursday.

Villagers described how dozens of gunmen on motorbikes stormed Tadagara and Dunbulwa villages, 170 kilometres (100 miles) from Yobe state capital Damaturu, from Wednesday night through to the following morning.
