Kaduna hit by 2 deadly Explosions

The blast exploded in the centre of Kaduna at a busy time of day

Two explosions have ripped through the northern Nigerian city of Kaduna, killing at least 40 people, police say.

The first explosion targeted moderate Islamic cleric Dahiru Bauchi while the second one targeted senior opposition leader Muhammadu Buhari, a BBC reporter in the city says.

15,000 flee after Boko Haram overtakes Nigerian town

Kano, Nigeria (CNN) -- A days-long raid on a northeast Nigerian town by Boko Haram left dozens dead and displaced more than 15,000 residents, Nigeria's National Emergency Management Agency reports.

Scores of fighters armed with rocket-propelled grenades, explosives and guns descended on the town of Damboa early Thursday evening, residents and officials said.

Nigeria president meets relatives of schoolgirls held hostage

ABUJA: Relatives of the Nigerian schoolgirls kidnapped by Boko Haram 100 days ago met with President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday for the first time since the girls were seized.

The much anticipated meeting comes amid reports of a worsening security crisis in the northeast, where Islamists have occupied the town of Damboa and surrounding areas, with the military so far unable to chase them out.

2 Die in Ilorin as Customs men, smugglers clash

The crisis which led to the dead of 2 person was caused by vehicle dealers.
Roads leading to the Customs headquarters were blocked by armed Police officers.

There was pandemonium in Sawmill area of Ilorin, yesterday, as a result of a bloody clash between men of the Nigeria Customs Service and vehicle smugglers which allegedly led to the death of two persons.

The Kwara State Police Command, however, said only one person died in the incident.

Sawmill area is populated by vehicle dealers.
