Twenty-one persons are suspected to have contracted the Ebola Virus Disease and are under surveillance in Enugu State, South east Nigeria.

►The owner of a company dealing in alcoholic drinks, Olaide Iyanuoluwa Nigeria Limited, on Tuesday dragged the Nigerian Police Force before a Federal High Court in Lagos for unlawful seizure of her alcoholic drinks worth about N38m.
►The dealer, who said the drinks were imported from the Benin Republic, told the court that the police seized them on the claim that they were stolen.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, yesterday raised an alarm that unscrupulous elements posing as estate developers had taken over Abuja in a bid to swindle unsuspecting home seekers in the Federal Capital Territory.

►Commercial motorcyclists, popularly called Okada, yesterday, barricaded the Mile two end of Oshodi/Apapa protesting the killing of their colleague by tanker driver, causing a heavy gridlock for several hours.
►Reports said the unidentified motorcyclist was attempting to carry his bike from the service lane (Custom side) of the expressway to the other side of the expressway to run against traffic because of the traffic congestion when he lost balance and fell under the tyre of an oncoming truck. He was instantly crushed to death.

FG saves N160bn from ghost workers
The federal government has saved about N160 billion through the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System, IPPIS. That money could have been stolen by corrupt civil servants through the ghost workers syndrome, the Accountant General of the Federation, AGF, Mr. Jonah Otunla, has disclosed.
“We have IPPIS which has helped save personnel cost. In fact as at December 2013 we have saved about N160 billion,” he said.
