Keshi demands $5m compensation from NFF

Former Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has demanded US$5m (£3.2m) compensation from the Nigeria Football Federation following his dismissal from the job.

Keshi was sacked at the start of July and has been replaced by Sunday Oliseh.

He has written to the NFF through his lawyers demanding the money, claiming damages for defamation.

President President plans to split state oil company into two entities

President Muhammadu Buhari plans to split the state-owned Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) into two entities, his spokesman said on Saturday.

Buhari, elected in March on promises to combat corruption, has made clear he wants to overhaul the oil sector in Africa's biggest economy, which provides the government with around 70 percent of its revenue.

He has said his government will trace and recover what he called "mind-boggling" sums of money stolen from the oil sector.

SO SAD: INEC Commissioner Dies At 67

Professor Muritala Salau, a national commissioner with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), is dead, The Punch reports.

Salau gave up the ghost at the Turkish Hospital, Abuja where he had been admitted for an ailment.
