Top official of ISIS just executed - on charges of conspiracy

Reports have emerged that ISIS has executed one of its top administrative officials in Iraq's second-largest city of Mosul for planning a coup against the extremist group.

The Iraq Press news outlet first reported the incident on Monday, saying ISIS had executed Abu Usman al-Hassan — one of the group's commanders and Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's representative in the city — on charges of conspiracy, prompting a number of Syrian and Arab fighters to withdraw toward Raqqa in protest of the execution.

Gunmen Abduct Wife Of Former Acting Governor Of Bayelsa

A group of gunmen have kidnapped Madam Martha Binabo, the wife of former acting governor of Bayelsa state and currently House of Reps member, Nestor Binabo.

Vanguard reports that the incident happened on June 29, Monday, at Agbura community in the outskirts of Yenagoa the state capital.

The 48-year-old victim was abducted at about 11.30am by five armed men clad in military camouflage in front of a company where she is the director.

Chad arrests Boko Haram leader in N’Djamena

A Chadian Public Prosecutor, Alghassim Khamis, said on Tuesday that one of the key Boko Haram leaders, Baana Fanay, who has been coordinating trafficking of weapons in Nigeria, Cameroon and Chad was arrested on Sunday in N’Djamena.

Khamis said Fanay alias Mahamat Moustapha, was arrested by security forces after a fierce resistance.

Bayelsa Guber: PDP Adopts Dickson As Sole Candidate

Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa state  is set to emerge as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Bayelsa state governorship election, scheduled to hold in December this year.

A source within the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) told Peoples Daily that various groups within the state have endorsed the governor.

The party has therefore decided not to conduct a primary election, which they say is not in the interest of the party.
