Twin Suicide Attacks Hit Potiskum, 10 Feared Dead

Reports just reaching us indicate that two explosions in Potiskum, Yobe State have claimed the lives of 10 people, causing serious injuries to eight.
It was gathered that vigilantes and security agents were reportedly killed in the explosion this afternoon.
According to Presstv.com, the separate blasts took place on Monday. The attacker, who had been arrested after being suspected of theft, killed eight vigilantes after detonating his explosives.

Buhari plans Cameroon trip for Boko Haram force

President Muhammadu Buhari is planning to visit Cameroon to cement a regional fighting force against Boko Haram, he told AFP on Monday.

Buhari met his counterparts from Niger, Chad and Benin at a summit in Abuja last week but Cameroon's leader Paul Biya was noticeably absent and represented by his defence minister.

The two countries have long had strained ties, in part over a bitter territorial dispute but also after Boko Haram mounted cross-border raids into northeast Nigeria from Cameroon's far north.

At least one suicide bomber who is considered to be Boko Haram member attacked the Police Headquarters in the capital of Nigeria’s neighbour Chad, N’Djamena.

Reports also say that one of bombers attacked the police academy where a graduation ceremony was going on. At least 30 cadets were reportedly killed.

Bishop Kukah Tells Buhari What To Do With Confab Report

Matthew Kukah, a renowned cleric and Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari not to abandon the report of the national conference.

Speaking with newsmen in Sokoto, the cleric noted that though the national confab was viewed as a political gimmick by former President Goodluck Jonathan, the report could resolve some national issues.

According to Daily Post report, he also urged Buhari to give the report to relevant government agencies in order to explore possible areas suitable for implementation.

The national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has been urged by a pressure group, the Nigeria Needs Positive Change Group (NNPCG), to publicly recognise the emergence of Bukola Saraki as the Senate president.
In a statement by the group’s national coordinator, Alhaji Mas’ud Adebimpe, made available to This Day, they asked Tinubu to follow in the steps of Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, the national chairman of the party, who has recognized Saraki as the Senate president.

SHOCKING!! EFCC slams 50 fresh money laundering charges on Sylva

Apparently angered and disappointed by the dismissal of the money laundering charges it preferred against former Bayelsa governor, Timipre Sylva, by Justice A. R. Mohammed of the Abuja Federal High Court, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, yesterday, released 50 fresh charges against the All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain.
The charges were increased from the initial 42 to 50 by the anti-graft agency, thereby giving Sylva a tougher task to defend himself in the matter, which has already been filed and likely to be assigned to a new judge.
