Nigerians have reacted to reports that the federal government may be planning to place a ban on hijabs in the country, following the sudden use of women on hijabs for bombing by Boko Haram insurgents.

Naij.com, through its Facebook page, had asked Nigerians if they would support a ban on hijabs in the country like Cameroon and Chad have done, and our readers expressed indifference on the issue.

While some said it should be banned outrightly, some others are against it, noting that it will not mark the end of insurgency in the country.

Kaduna State Governor Begins Massive Youth Recruitment

The Kaduna state government has taken bold steps towards repositioning the Kaduna State Traffic and Environmental Law Enforcement Agency (KASTELEA) for effective discharge of its mandate.

According to a Facebook post by Governor El-Rufai, KASTELEA has begun recruitment of traffic and environmental enforcement officers as part of its strategy to effective carry-out its delegated duties.

The post read that applications were invited from residents of Kaduna state for the various vacant positions of enforcement officers.

Woman Found With Kidnapped Children

Operatives of the Owerri state police department have arrested a woman, Chioma Anoruo, for allegedly selling more than 19 children to clients.

Chioma, who lived at Okporo in Orlu town was said to have been in the business of child trafficking with her husband before she was apprehended by the community’s local vigilante group.

PM News reports that the vigilante group arrested Chioma and handed her over to the police but her husband escaped. Five children were rescued while a large amount of money was recovered from Chioma.
