Lagos News - Nigeria's government on Wednesday denied reports of a mass kidnapping in the country's northeast, as Boko Haram militants flee a four-nation military offensive.

"There is no fresh kidnapping in Damasak," Nigeria's national security spokesman Mike Omeri told AFP, referring to the town recently retaken by forces from neighbouring Chad and Niger.

Niger, Chad troops pursue Boko Haram in Nigerian border area

Troops from Chad and Niger pursued Boko Haram fighters across a northern Nigeria border area on Thursday, driving them out of a village they held there and causing some to flee into Niger, two senior Niger military officers said.

Niger and Chad are participating in a joint offensive along with Nigeria and Cameroon aimed at ending the Nigerian Islamist group's six-year insurgency, which has spilled across Nigeria's borders to threaten regional stability.

Amaechi To Flee Nigeria If Buhari Loses Election

The Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi who always appear to be very tough and battle ready has revealed that he has made proper arrangements to flee Nigeria if the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari should loss the March 28 presidential election.

Nigeria election: Kano's Christian exodus

An exodus from the mainly Christian quarter of Kano, the commercial centre of northern Nigeria, is taking place ahead of elections this weekend, because of fears of violence.

The main bus station in the Sabon Gari suburb is chaotic as thousands of people cram onto coaches heading to the east or west of the country.

"Kano is now closing for business because of the fear of the unknown," says the chairman of the bus station.

Several Injured In OPC Faction Clash In Lagos

Report coming in from Surulere area of Lagos State indicates that several people have been left with various degrees of injuries following a clash that occurred between factions of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC).
Daily Trust reports that the incident which occurred on Wednesday saw members of the congress freely engaged in a gun battle that lasted for hours.

The reason for the dispute could not be ascertained as at the time of filing the report, but a source who spoke on condition of anonymity said it might not been unconnected with rallies organized by members of various political parties in the city.
