Presidency Gets Replacement For Jega, Guess Who?

The lingering controversies surrounding plot to remove the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Prof. Attahiru Jega may have finally be put to rest as the presidency has reportedly gotten a replacement for the embattled INEC chairman.
A reliable source within the presidency who did not want to be named on Tuesday disclosed to YNaija that the presidency is planning on removing the INEC chairman this week.

The information is coming despite assurances from President Goodluck Jonathan, during February 11 presidential media chat that he had no intention of removing Jega from office.

Fuel Scarcity: PDP accuses APC of sabotage

Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential Campaign Organisation, PDPPCO, yesterday accused the All Progressives Congress, APC, of being behind the present fuel scarcity in the country, just as it accused the opposition of sabotaging Federal Government’s effort at ensuring that there was supply of Petroleum products.

The APC has, however, described the accusation as totally unconscionable, and indeed an admission of failure for a sitting government and ruling party to blame the opposition for their failings.

General Buhari Speaks About Fuel Scarcity

General Muhammadu Buhari, who is running for the presidential seat from the All Progressives Congress (APC), has bemoaned the fuel scarcity that has hit Nigeria, stating that, Nigerians are forced to spend quality hours queuing for petroleum products.

Buhari via his official Twitter account said that Nigeria as a country should not be importing petrol.

“The countless man hours that will be spent at petrol stations today, will reduce our productivity as a nation. This should not be so,” he wrote.

IS says US suicide bomber carried out Iraq attack

The Islamic State group said Tuesday a US citizen carried out a suicide attack against Iraqi forces involved in an operation to retake the jihadist-held city of Tikrit.

“The brother Abu Dawud al-Amriki (may Allah accept him) launched himself with his explosives-laden truck against a gathering” of Iraqi forces and militiamen, an IS radio bulletin said.
