ICC to probe incitement allegations against Patience Jonathan

The International Criminal Court, ICC, said it would investigate allegations of incitement against the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, The Cable, an online newspaper reported yesterday.
The decision to investigate and possibly prosecute the First Lady followed a petition submitted to the ICC by All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Organization, APCPCO.

The Director-General of the APCPCO, Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State had last week signed the petition against the First Lady,

Buhari, Osinbajo’s wives attacked in Ilorin, 10 vehicles vandalised

The convoy of the wife of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Hajia Aisha Buhari  was yesterday attacked by suspected hoodlums in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The hoodlums vandalised about 10 vehicles during the attack.

State chairman of the party, Alhaji Ishola Balogun Fulani, said this at a press conference last night in Ilorin and fingered a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Army not empowered to monitor polls -Jega

In an apparent warning to the military to stay away from the forth-coming general elections, Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Attahiru Jega, yesterday, hinted that the power of the military as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution (as amended), does not empower it to monitor elections.

The INEC chairman spoke at a town hall meeting in Abuja, organised by Reinvent Media in conjunction with Ford Foundation and Kukah Centre, where he entertained questions on the state of preparedness of the electoral commission ahead of the March 28 and April 11 elections.
