NGF asks Okonjo-Iweala to account for $20bn

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum on Tuesday demanded explanations from the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, on $20 billion being accruals for the Excess Crude Account for two years.
This was part of a communique issued at the end of a four-hour meeting which ended in the early hours of Tuesday at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.

EFCC re-arraigns Sylva for N2.45bn fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Monday re-arraigned a former governor of Bayelsa State, Mr. Timipre Sylva, before a Federal High Court in Abuja for fraud involving about N2.45bn.

The accused allegedly committed the offence between October 2009 and February 2010 as governor of Bayelsa State.

He pleaded not guilty to all the six counts when he was re-arraigned before Justice Evoh Chukwu on Monday.

Air Force men beat FAAN official comatose

An official of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, was yesterday beaten unconscious by two Nigerian Air Force officers in charge of traffic control at the departure section of the international terminal wing of Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos.

The FAAN staff, Mohammed Shuaibu, who works at the protocol and passages of the agency, had told his friend to pick him at the airport but when he arrived, the airmen attempted to remove the number plates of his car.

Shuaibu was said to have begged the Air Force men not to take away the number plates.

APC to hold 2 days conference to unveils Buhari policy

A two-day conference where the policy direction of the incoming government of the General Mohamadu Buhari would be unveiled is due in Abuja on Wednesday and Thursday, All a Progress Congress, APC said on Monday.

Themed “Implementing Change: From Vision to Reality”, the dialogue is a brainchild of the Policy, Research and Strategy Directorate of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.

The event would mark the winding up of the Directorate as the inauguration of the new government is almost a week a way now.
