Manchester United are aware of speculation in Holland that the Dutchman had a bust-up with his manager following the draw with Southampton last weekend before missing Wednesday’s Champions League win over Real Sociedad.
It followed reports last month that Van Persie is unhappy at Old Trafford under the Moyes regime and an admission from Sir Alex Ferguson in his autobiography published this week that he apologised to the 30-year-old when he retired in May after promising to stay on as manager at Old Trafford for a few more years when he signed the striker from Arsenal in the summer of 2012
