Our client, an extra-ministerial department set-up to oversee the management of pensions for “pensioners not transiting to the Defined Contributory Scheme” has recently received the mandate to carry out its functions as stipulated by the PRA 2004. The client seeks to fill the following key positions:
Corporate Affairs Department - 4 Positions
Vacant Positions
1.) Corporate Communications Officer (DG CCO)
This role is primarily responsible for promoting the Organisation's corporate image and managing the interface with media and the general public.
The Job Holder would report to the Head, Corporate Communication.
Duties & Responsibilities
► Manage the various aspects of the Organisation’s media relations strategy, including handling of media queries, interviews and press conferences.
► Implement effective media / public relations and crisis management systems and processes.
► Ensure strict adherence to defined policies and procedures governing both internal and external information dissemination.
► Liaise with media and public relations agencies.
► Handle the planning, organizing and convening of public relations and corporate events.
► Ensure timely and prompt implementation of the internal communication plan.
Job Requirements
► A Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism or any relevant discipline.
► A post graduate / relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage.
► A minimum of 8 years work experience of which at least 2 years in a related function.
Key Competency Requirements
► A good appreciation of strategies and key concepts in communication management.
► A good understanding of the Nigerian public sector.
2.) Deputy Director/Assistant Director, Corporate Communications (DG ADCC)
This role is responsible for leading and managing Legal Services and managing institution’s interface with media. Also to ensure that effective legal advice, support and representation that promotes corporate image is provided.
Duties & Responsibilities
► Provide leadership and ensure efficient and effective management of staff and resources in the Communications Department.
► Ensure the Organisation corporate communications both internal and external are consistent with governing values and objectives.
► Manage the various aspects of the Organisation’s media relations strategy, including handling of media queries, interviews and press conferences.
► Implement effective media / public relations and crisis management systems and processes.
► Ensure strict adherence to defined policies and procedures governing both internal and external information dissemination.
► Liaise with media and public relations agencies.
► Handle the planning, organizing and convening of public relations and corporate events.
► Ensure timely and prompt implementation of the internal communication plan.
Job Requirements
► A Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Economics or any relevant discipline.
► A post graduate / relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage.
► A minimum of 16 years work experience of which at least 3 years in a related function.
Key Competency Requirements
► A good appreciation of strategies and key concepts in communication management.
A good understanding of the Nigerian public sector environment.
3.) Head, Council Secretariat & Corporate Communication (HCSCC – PFA002)
This role is responsible for leading and managing Legal Services and managing institution’s interface with media. Also to ensure that effective legal advice, support and representation that promotes corporate image is provided.
The Job Holder would report to the Executive Secretary and has oversight of the Legal team.
Duties & Responsibilities
► Provide leadership and ensure efficient and effective management of staff and resources in the Legal department.
► Provide legal advisory services to Agency on corporate governance, legal and regulatory framework and liaise with regulatory bodies where necessary.
► Initiate initial briefs on suits against Agency and advice management accordingly.
► Liaise with relevant departments to ensure that where legal risks have been identified, appropriate courses of action have been taken.
► Provide legal protection and risk management advice to management especially on contract management.
► Provide and interpret legal information, conduct training and disseminate appropriate legal requirements to staff.
► Review and advise management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures.
► Review contracts, agreements and internal policies and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements.
► Review progress of outstanding litigation and liaise with and manage external lawyers and other regulatory bodies.
► Ensure Agency corporate communications both internal and external are consistent with governing values and objectives.
Job Requirements
► A first degree in Law (L.L.B. and B.L.)
► Post Graduate / relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage.
► Minimum of 12 years experience, two (2) of which must be at managerial level.
Key Competency Requirements
► Advanced knowledge of regulatory and legislative laws governing pension administration.
► Good knowledge of leading practices in corporate governance.
► Good understanding of the Nigerian public sector and the roles and responsibilities of the key Ministries, Department and Agencies.
► Strong interpersonal, written and oral skills
► Attention to details, tangible and intangible.
► Ability to plan, organize and manage work to achieve deadlines and targets.
4.) Programme Officer Corporate Communications (DG CCO)
This role is primarily responsible for promoting the Organisation's corporate image and managing the interface with media and the general public. The Job Holder would report to the Assistant Director, Corporate Communications.
Duties & Responsibilities
► Provide effective support to the management of the various aspects of the Organisation’s media relations strategy, including handling of media queries, interviews and press conferences.
► Support the Implementation of effective media / public relations and crisis management systems and processes.
► Ensure strict adherence to defined policies and procedures governing both internal and external information dissemination.
► Liaise with media and public relations agencies.
► Provide quality support in the planning, organizing and convening of public relations and corporate events.
► Ensure timely and prompt implementation of the internal communication plan.
Job Requirements
► Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism or any relevant discipline.
► A post graduate / relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage.
► A minimum of three 3 years work experience.
Key Competency Requirements
► Good appreciation of strategies and key concepts in communication management.
► Good understanding of image management.
► Good appreciation and understanding of media relations
