President Goodluck Jonathan will collect the ruling party’s nomination form for presidential elections tomorrow, the clearest sign yet that he’ll seek another term.
Jonathan, 56, won the 2011 election for the People’s Democratic Party, which has held power in Africa’s biggest oil producer since military rule ended in 1999.

The president “thanks all Nigerians, members of the PDP, friends, associates, and all groups who in sincere appreciation of the achievements of the administration in the last four years, have been urging him to seek a second term in office,” his spokesman Reuben Abati said in a statement e-mailed today from the capital, Abuja.
Three politicians have said they will seek the nomination of the main opposition party, the All Progressives Congress, for the vote scheduled for Feb. 14.
