Oil Theft, Adams Oshiomhole tell federal government ... Oil Theft: Oshiomhole Tells NLC To Probe FG
Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has challenged the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to probe the Federal Government over alleged crude oil theft.
The governor, who spoke on Wednesday at the groundbreaking of the Labour House in Benin City, urged the NLC to ask the federal government how hundreds of barrels of crude oil are stolen without check on a daily basis.
Oshiomhole said Nigeria was being run in a directionless manner, adding that the labour union must show more interest in the national discourse so that the ship of state could be steered in the right direction movement.
He said issues of the management of the treasury and oil theft are not the preserve of the political class as oil is being stolen. He hinted that Nigeria has a capacity of producing 2.5 million barrels a day but oil is performing on an average of $108 a barrel over the past few years, adding that it floated on that average but sometimes, it went to $111 and at a time, before it later dropped to $106 per barrel.
