There are reports that the Chief Security Officer to former President Jonathan, Gordon Obua has been detained by the DSS. According to the report, part of the measures by the new Buhari administration is to probe any officials who might have looted public funds under GEJ’s watch.
It was also in the report that the order for the Chief Security Officer to former President Jonathan arrest was given by President Buhari.
As the time of the report, the reason for the arrest is yet to be known. But there are indications that the Chief Security Officer to GEJ may have been involved in some shady deals. Or he was arrested to give key info on officials in Jonathan’s administration.
A source was reported to have explained that, “The arrest and detention of the former CSO is an indication that every former minister or senior official under Jonathan’s government are not exempted from probe except those that have no criminal suspicion or record of wrong doing in office.”
It was reported that President Buhari has reportedly mandated DSS to recover all looted funds by previous government, so more officials who served under GEJ are expected to be arrested and detained in the coming weeks.
