At a ceremony for politicians who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Babatunde Olorogun-Etti, a former PDP chieftain now with the APC has identified the virtues of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the party.
Speaking at the event, Olorogun-Etti highlighted fair-mindedness, trust building, and good gate-keeping as virtues of Bola Tinubu.
Olorogun-Etti also praised Tinubu for respecting the wishes of the people, demonstrating democratic effectiveness and finding peaceful resolutions to conflicts, The Nation reports.
He said: “In a lot of ways, he’s a very good politician. He has a fine political mind and a real commitment to public service. He is a man of real talent and real principle.”
Attributing their defection to leadership greed and selfishness, they urged other Lagosians in PDP to quit the party.
Olorogun-Etti: “The leaders do not have the interest of members at heart.”
Joining Olorogun-Etti to extol Tinubu, Muiz Aregbe-Obanikoro,and 27 former leaders of PDP now in the APC, described Tinubu as the best politician in the country.
They also praised him for making the south-west part of the mainstream politics in Nigeria
Among those who defected to the APC are Chief Ibrahim Babatunde Olorogun-Etti, Hon Muiz Aregbe-Obanikoro, Alhaji Yakub Yusuf, Sunday Ayinde, Wale Ramous, Alhaja Kuburat Salami, Alhaji Lateef Lamidi and Adijat Jaji.
Meanwhile, Tinubu has reacted to the attacks on his successor, Babatunde Fashola.
In a statement by his media office on August 26, Tinubu said Fashola would appear victorious at the end as the former Lagos state governor has recently been experiencing the worst moments in his political career following fraud allegations.
