BREAKING: Former DSS Spokesperson, Marilyn Ogar Sacked And 14 Others

The Department of State Services has sent two directors and 13 other senior officials on compulsory retirement.

A signal from the leadership of the service issued on Wednesday night, also named the former DSS spokesperson, Marilyn Ogar, a deputy director, as one of those affected by the development.

In a report on the The Cable, Ogar, alongside other top directors at the DSS, have been compulsorily retired from the agency effective from yesterday, September 2.

Ogar was told to leave the force yesterday via a retirement letter dispatched to her and several others by the new leadership of the agency.

According to a report on Sahara Reporters, Ogar was sent packing as Musa Daura, new director of the agency decided he wants to reorganize the agency.

It was gathered that most of the axed officers are close friends of Ita Ekpeyong, former director general of the agency.

Ogar came under heavy attacks following her frequent involvement in political matters as her critics believed her actions portrayed the agency as a partisan government agency during the administration of former president Goodluck Jonathan.

She further portrayed her organization as mere tool for political propaganda and intimidation, rather than the professional security outfit it ought to be, with her unprofessional utterances.

Ogar once linked some unnamed members of the opposition APC to the Boko Haram insurgency.

In July, Ogar was transferred to Maiduguri, Borno state and demoted as spokesperson of the agency shortly President Buhari appointed Daura as the Head of the organization.
