The Council of State has approved the appointment of Prof. Mahmud Yakubu, as the substantive Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
President Muhammadu Buhari drops Mrs Amina Bala Zakari as the Acting Chairman of INEC following the conclusion of the term of Office of Prof. Attahiru Jega.
Mrs. Zakari ws presently a National Electoral Commissioner at INEC.
