Gang abducts Kwara special adviser's daughter, nabbed

A member of a kidnappers’ gang which abducted the daughter of the Special Adviser to the Kwara State Governor on Political Matters, Alhaji Usman Bibire, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command.

Chat212 learnt that Bibire’s 20-year-old daughter, Sa-adat, was abducted by the gang on Thursday, November 6, in Uzoro, Delta State.

EFCC Arraigns 77yr Old Woman & 2 Others For N65m Land Scam

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, yesterday, arraigned a septuagenarian, Alhaja Mulikat Shonekan, before a Lagos High Court in Ikeja for allegedly stealing and fraudulently converting N65 million entrusted in her care for the purchase of 90 acres of land in Ogun State.

Alhaja Shonekan was arraigned alongside Martins Ogiogwa and Mujekanm Petroleum Nig. Coy. Ltd, on a five-count charge of conspiracy to obtain money by false pretences, stealing and issuance of dishonoured cheque.

3 men attempt to force baby out of 8-month pregnant lover’s womb

►Operatives of Jigawa State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, have apprehended three men for allegedly attempting to pull out the baby from the womb of an eight-month pregnant woman at Gusau quarters in Gumel Local Government.

The suspects, Adamu Usman Barma, 31; Fawas Bala, 28; and Buhari Ahmed, 29, were said to be the 20-year-old woman’s lovers.

Final year student nabbed during cult initiation

A final year student of Rivers State University of Science and Technology, RSUST, has been arrested by the Police during a cult initiation ceremony near the back gate of the university.

Spokesman of the police in the state, DSP Ahmad Muhammad, said a graduate of Cross River State University was also arrested during the ceremony, adding that a Beretta pistol and three rounds of 9mm ammunition were among items recovered from them.

Pakistani man kills niece for listening to loud music – police

A teenage Pakistani girl has been shot dead by her uncle following a row over loud music, police said Tuesday.

The incident happened Saturday in the Kallar Kahar valley in Punjab province’s Chakwal district, around 120 kilometres (75 miles) from the capital Islamabad.

Runaway Murder Suspect Arrested Hiding Inside bathroom

►After trailing him for a month, the police in Lagos have arrested a suspected killer, Mr. Wasiu Kadiri, inside a bathroom in Isale Eko on the Lagos Island.
►Chat212 learnt that 22-year-old Kadiri allegedly killed a friend, identified simply as Segun, on October 4 in Odoshiwola, Epe, and fled.

It was learnt that late Segun, from the Ejinrin Local Government Area, had come to celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir with another friend in the area, identified simply as Tunji, when he was allegedly stabbed to death by the suspect.

Sisters Arrested For Attempting To Smuggle marijuana to brother inside cell

Officers of the Nigerian Prison Services on Wednesday caught two sisters, Shade Oyetobi and Atinuke Adebanwo, while attempting to smuggle 11 wraps of marijuana into the Ikeja Lagos State High Court holding cell for awaiting trial inmates.

Our correspondent gathered that the culprits, who claimed to be orphans, brought in the illegal substance for their brother, Babatunde Oyetobi, an awaiting trial inmate.

The Department of State Service, Bayelsa State Command, has apprehended six persons in connection with the killing of the Administrative Secretary, Bayelsa State Independent Electoral Commission, Chief Simeon Akpane.

►Akpane was murdered by some gunmen on October 10, 2014 in front of his residence at Bethel Church Close, off Otitio Road, Yenezue-gene, Yenagoa.
►The BYSIEC secretary was shot at close range by his attackers.

Man rapes man in Lagos

A terrifying ordeal occurred in Lagos last month when a man held down another man and raped him, a police prosecutor told an Abule Egba Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

The prosecutor, Insp. Racheal Williams alleged that the accused had drugged his victim before raping him.“When the complainant woke up, his anus was paining him and there was some left-over semen in it,’’ she said.

Trader kills customer during price negotiation in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a trader, Mr. Lawrence Ikonne, for allegedly killing a buyer, Isa Yaya, because the deceased haggled over the price of a commodity.

Man pays N40,000 to get son-in-law killed

THE police in Bauchi State have arrested a 62-year-old man, Dotti Jumba, from Tumbarja in Kubdia district of Gamawa Local Government Area of the state for paying some persons N40,000 to kill his son-in-law, Ahmadu Wakili Guji.

Jumba, according to a statement made available to journalists in Bauchi by the police spokesman in Bauchi State Police Command, Haruna Muhammed, was arrested by detectives attached to Gamawa Division on Friday, October 31, 2014, at about 1pm.

I harvested cannabis to buy WASSCE form – Teenager

AN 18-year-old teenager, Monday Ogwugwa, who was arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, has said he became a labourer at a cannabis farm in desperation to raise the fee to register for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination.

Chat212 learnt that the teenager was arrested during an operation in which the NDLEA was able to confiscate and burn hard drugs worth N15.8bn.

►Ogwugwa told officials of Chat212 that to earn a living had been tough for him since he had lost his parents at a tender age.
►The suspect added that he was misled to the illicit business in his quest for formal education.

Ridiculous! Man Forges His Own Death Certificate To Commit Fraud

A 35-year-old man, Banjo Omotosho, and his wife, Ebun, 29 have been arraigned before a Somolu Magistrate’s Court for allegedly forging a death certificate in a bid to defraud the Niger Insurance Company of the sum of N1.08m.

►The alleged crime was said to have been detected at the insurance company located on the Anthony end of the Ikorodu Expressway.
►It was learnt that Banjo had approached the insurance company with his wife, Ebun, to take a life insurance policy under the names, Ojo Alabi Kingsley, and Ojo Motunrayo, respectively.

Policeman crushes wife, kills baby because of 2,000

Like a scene from a horror movie, a police corporal, Lucky Ikharia, on October 30, allegedly used a bus to crush the legs of his wife, Dupe. Having left her for dead, Lucky went home where he allegedly stabbed his baby, David, to death, ripping out the toddler’s intestines.

Still in a rage, the policeman turned the knife on himself in an attempt to take his own life.

Liberian refugee leads robbery gang, snatches 15 vehicles

A 25-year-old Liberian refugee, Mr. Moses Andrel, and four others have been arrested by the police in Lagos for allegedly snatching 15 vehicles in different parts of the country.
