PDP CRISIS: Nwoye, 8 others face expulsion
Suspended members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Anambra State, Mr. Tony Nwoye and eight others may be expelled from the party should they fail to appear before the disciplinary committee set up to investigate alleged anti-party activities against them.

After hours of negotiations on Monday night, the top hierarchy of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has proposed that its preferred candidate for majority leader, Femi Gbajabiamila, should become the deputy speaker.
A member of the house of reps informed TheCable that the proposal means Yusuf Lasun, who was elected deputy speaker on June 9, will have to voluntarily step down — since he can only be removed by two-thirds majority of the house and that is not thought to be on the cards.

An Abuja Federal High Court has nullified the candidacy of a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) member of the House of Representatives, Godwin Idu, who is representing Onitsha North/South Federal Constituency of Anambra State.
Justice Adeniyi Ademola ordered Idu to vacate his seat on Thursday, June 25, and cancelled the certificate of return which the Independent National Electoral Commission earlier issued to him as the winner of the March 28, 2015 election.

As the National Assembly crisis took a turn for the worse Tuesday, governors of the All Progressives Congress have asked President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene and save the party from “derailing”.
