Muslim group asks Jonathan not to acquire new jet

Muslims in the country have asked President Goodluck Jonathan to lead the way in enduring the expected hardship occasioned by the falling oil prices.

The call followed the plea on Sunday at a church service in Abuja by Jonathan to Nigerians to be prepared to bear with the hardship to be experienced in the country as a result of the continuous drop in oil prices.

INEC releases names of candidates for 2015 presidential election

The ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, submitted the names of President Goodluck Jonathan and his vice, Namadi Sambo, while the main opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, submitted the names of Muhammadu Buhari and Yemi Osinbajo as presidential and vice presidential candidates.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has released the names of the presidential candidates and their running mates who will contest next year’s elections

Of the 26 registered political parties in Nigeria, only 11 submitted names of candidates to run for the presidency.

Lagos accuses Jonathan of running govt without any legacy

►Lagos State Government yesterday said President Goodluck Jonathan and his vice; Namadi Sambo has ruled the country for four years without any legacy to show, even as it accused Sambo of lacking in facts on the economic viability of the state.
