Boko Haram has claimed a massive attack feared to be the worst in its six-year insurgency and threatened Nigeria’s neighbours, as talks began for a regional response to the militants and fears grew of further violence.

The confirmation from Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau came as no surprise after multiple eye-witness accounts of the attack on Baga, which is thought to have killed hundreds, if not more.

Soldiers Intercept Truck Load of 3600 Ballot Boxes

A team of soldiers, popularly called OP MESSA, attached to 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala in Ogun State, yesterday, intercepted a truck-load of about 3,600 ballot boxes at Odogbolu axis of the Sagamu-Ijebu Ode Expressway.

►The soldiers reportedly handed over the truck and the contents to the Police in Ijebu-Ode area command, which was then reportedly taken to a special security facility in the state.
►However, sources told Chat212 that two other trucks escaped. It was also learned that the ballot boxes were filled with ballot papers.
