80 years old American missionary kidnapped in Kogi

An 80-year-old American missionary, Rev. Phyllis Sortor, has been abducted by unknown gunmen in Kogi State.

The kidnapping is coming barely two days after a director at Adavi Local Government Area, Abdulazeez Ohere, who was kidnapped last week, was released.

The Department of State and Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, are working with Nigerian authorities to find Sortor and are still awaiting word from her kidnappers.

Police arrest rapist of 9-yr-old girl

A 32-year-old truck pusher, Alloysus Ikejimba, has been arrested by policemen for allegedly defiling a 9-year-old girl.
 Chat212 gathered that the suspect, who was described as a serial rapist, had raped his victim more than four times before he was arrested.

Police sources told Chat212 that the suspect had been arrested over a similar offence in the past.

Immunity: Reps divided over Mbu, laud Jonathan, military

A motion on the alleged disrespectful conduct and utterances of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone II Command,   Joseph Mbu, on Tuesday divided members of the House   of Representatives along party lines.

An All Progressives Congress   member, Alo Madaki, had moved a motion asking the House to “condemn” Mbu for alleged violations of the 1999 Constitution and showing “disrespect for the rule of law.”

Obasanjo’s membership card had expired, says PDP

Two weeks after former President Olusegun Obasanjo tore his Peoples Democratic Party membership card, the party claimed on Tuesday that the card being held by the former President had expired.

It said that the card hitherto owned by Obasanjo was signed by the party’s former Acting National Chairman, Alhaji Kawu Baraje.

Baraje has since left the party and he is now a chieftain of the main opposition party, the All Progressives Congress.
