Governor Tambuwal Makes His First Appointment — Do You Know What Tambuwal Says You Should Call Him?

Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has appointed Malam Imam Imam, as his special adviser on media and public affairs.

The former speaker of the house of representatives made this known in a statement he personally signed and issued to journalists in Sokoto.

Tambuwal in his statement urged the appointee to endear himself to his new assignment by making positive contributions to the information flow in the state.

Imam was also Tambuwal’s spokesman when he served as speaker of the house representative from 2011 to 2015.

The Nation newspaper reported that Imam was a former group political editor at THISDAY newspapers. Imam was born on July 16, 1977, in Gboko, Benue State, but hails from Taraba State.

The spokesman educational certificates include a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mass Communication from Kaduna Polytechnic and a degree in Development Studies at Post Graduate level from Bayero University, Kano.

Iman began his journalistic sojourn in the former Millennium Weekly newspaper in Kaduna in the year 2000, before he got an appointment with New Nigerian Newspapers in 2002.

The spokesman is a graduate member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and a member of the Nigerian Union of Journalists.

Meanwhile, Imam announced that Tambuwal has declined the title of ‘His Excellency’. The former speaker will be referred to as Governor, Sokoto State, not Executive Gov.
