Boko Haram refugees risk lives to cross lake to Chad camps

Kellou Abakar knew she was in trouble as the contractions started not long after an Islamic extremist group attacked her town in Nigeria. 
 
Her husband was nowhere to be found, and so she pulled her 4-year-old son onto her back and grabbed her two little girls by the hand.

The 30-year-old pregnant woman ran as fast as she could to escape the Jan. 3 attack on her hometown of Baga. It was one of the worst massacres ever carried out by Boko Haram during its five-year insurgency.

BH: DHQ Reacts To Alleged Frustration Of Allied Forces

The Nigerian army has reacted to the alleged frustration of neighboring troops who are part of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in the fight against the Boko Haram insurgency.

Channels Television on Wednesday reported that the reaction was conveyed by the spokesman of the Defense Headquarters, Major General Chris Olukolade.

Major Olukolade, who denied the report, explained that the current wave of events in the fight against the Boko Haram insurgency in the northeastern part of the country was conceived and being driven by the Nigerian Military.

FG In Closed Door Meeting With Chibok Girls’ Parents

The Federal Government today had a closed door meeting with parents and relatives of abducted Chibok school girls, where it tabled plans to get the girls released from Boko Haram captivity.
Recall that over 200 girls were abducted from Government Secondary School, Chibok, on April 14, 2014 by the Islamic fundamentalist group, Boko Haram.
