Oil prices forces FG to halt distribution of N35.5 bn SURE-P fund

The Minister of State for Finance, Mr Bashir Yuguda, said on Wednesday that N522 billion was shared among the federal, states and local governments as revenue for February, 2015.

Yuguda announced this in Abuja when he addressed newsmen on the outcome of the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting.

He said that the shared amount comprised the month’s statutory revenue of N401.4 billion and N6.3 billion refunded by Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

500, 000 copies of PVCs yet to be printed out for INEC - Jega

With about 10 days to the scheduled presidential election, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, yesterday, said it was yet to print only 500, 000 copies of the Permanent Voters’ Card, PVC.

Chairman of the Commission, Professor Attahiru Jega who made the disclosure at a dialogue session he had with the Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room in Abuja yesterday, said the contract for printing of the remaining PVCs was awarded to an indigenous firm that is based in the Federal Capital Territory.
