South Africa will deploy soldiers to reinstate peace in the main city, Johannesburg, to stop the attacks on immigrants.

PDP chiefs may be expelled over Jonathan’s defeat
The Peoples Democratic Party has begun reviewing its performance in the March 28 presidential election with a view to arriving at what caused the defeat of President Goodluck Jonathan.
It was gathered in Abuja on Sunday night that top members of the party were of the opinion that some of them in the National Working Committee and National Executive Committee, especially those from the North, covertly played roles that contributed to Jonathan’s loss.
A leader of the party said that such members also connived with the All Progressives Congress to ensure that Jonathan was beaten at the polls.

The ex-president Chief Olusegun Obasanjo met with the winner of the
presidential poll General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.) as he arrived in Abuja
yesterday, April 20
There were reports that the president-elect came to the Federal State
Capital to formally present to Nigerians names of members of the
transition committee at a party event to be organised in Abuja.
The
committee will work with an equivalent committee from the outgoing
administration of the current president, Goodluck Jonathan.
The
two, Obasanjo and Buhari, had earlier met in Lagos, where they had a
closed-door meeting after General’s victory in the March 28 presidential
poll.
The former president recently publicly endorsed Buhari for
the presidency after falling out with the incumbent and outgoing
president of Nigeria. But later Obasanjo denied supporting Buhari as he
said he just wanted a strong leader for Nigeria.
After the meeting the president-elect spoke behind closed-doors with the president of Cote D’voire, Allassane Quattara.

Angry Nigerians, yesterday, stormed the South African High Commission in Abuja, threatening to shut down South African companies in Nigeria over xenophobic attacks against foreigners in South Africa, including Nigerians.
