Tension in Ekiti: Never-Say-Die APC lawmakers stage last move to impeach Fayose

A fresh crisis is brewing between Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, and the 19 All Progressives Congress lawmakers, following fears that the lawmakers may forcefully regain entrance into the State House of Assembly and commence legislative business on Monday.

The lawmakers, emboldened by the inauguration of Muhammadu Buhari as President, threatened to resume sitting, prompting panic within government circles in the state.

People close to the two camps told Chat212 the lawmakers planned to gain access to the house on Monday, and then make the impeachment of the governor their main business of the day.

Barely a day after a suicide bomber killed 26 in a mosque attack in Borno State on Saturday, another bomb blast has gone near Custom office in Gamboru market of the state, killing one person and injuring three oth-ers, sources told Hausa service of the BBC.

The military source said that the explosives were concealed in a bag of charcoal inside the market, about 300 metres from the state customs of-fice.

There was no immediate claim for the blast which is typical for such at-tacks, but it bore the hallmarks of Boko Haram.
