SO SAD: INEC Commissioner Dies At 67

Professor Muritala Salau, a national commissioner with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), is dead, The Punch reports.

Salau gave up the ghost at the Turkish Hospital, Abuja where he had been admitted for an ailment.

Aged 67, the late Salau died on Saturday, July 25, and had since been buried at the Muslim cemetery, Ibadan in line with Muslim rites.

Boko Haram Fight : Airforce virtually non – existent – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has painted a worrisome picture of the on-going war against Boko Haram , saying that there was not enough fire power to support ground troops to decimate the terrorists.

He spoke on Good Morning Nigeria, a programme of the Nigerian Television Authority, Monday, in Abuja.

He made the comment while failing to answer repeated questions on whether or not he was able to secure  a commitment from the US to sell critical equipment to defeat the terrorists.

A top source, who was part of the Transition Committee, told Vanguard in confidence that Buhari  had been studying the crucial report critically with a view to taking a final decision on the structure of his administration so as to deliver the promised change to Nigerians.
