Aged 67, the late Salau died on Saturday, July 25, and had since been buried at the Muslim cemetery, Ibadan in line with Muslim rites.

According to Prof. Lai Olurode, a fellow National Commissioner of INEC, late Salau was an enigma, who touched the lives of several people that he came across.

Olurode said: “I recall the last night I shared with him in Uyo during one of our workshops at INEC. He spoke glowingly. Professor Attahiru Jega had him flown from Uyo to Abuja when he took ill. It is very painful to lose such a nice man.

“During our last night together, he spoke so glowingly on providence. You can see a reflection of his humanity in the turnout of people from INEC, LAUTECH and the Obafemi Awolowo University.”
