BREAKING! Palace Denies Death Of Ooni, Says He Is Still Alive

Vanguard reports that there is no truth in the reported death of Osun monarch, Oba Sijuade Okunade, the Ooni of Ife.

The Royal Traditional Council (RTC) of the town, on Wednesday,  July 29, stated that the paramount ruler is alive and in good state of health.

The group, which has the traditional chiefs and title holders in Ile-Ife said Oba Sijuade is not only alive, he is also preparing for his son’s wedding holding Sunday, next week, in Lagos.

Yar’Adua canceled sale of refineries, refunded Dangote’s $750m – Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has explained that the sale of two of the nation’s oil oil refineries had been concluded before he exited office in 2007, saying his successor, the late Umaru Yar’Adua, reversed the sale due to “pressure”.

Obasanjo said this in his serialised interview with ‘Book Club’, a programme on Channels Television, monitored in Lagos on Wednesday.

BREAKING NEWS: Army Frees Dozens Of Women, Children From Boko Haram

Army said Tuesday it had liberated 30 hostages held by Boko Haram, including 21 children and seven women, amid ongoing offensives against the extremists in the country's northeast.

Army officials said the operation to free the captives took place in the town of Dikwa in Borno State, which had fallen to Boko Haram twice since April, and was recaptured by Nigerian troops last week.
