BREAKING NEWS!! WAEC Releases SSCE, Withholds 118,101 Candidates' Results

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has released the result of the May/June SSCE examination with 118,101 results of candidates being withheld, Vanguard reports.

Mr. Charles Eguridu, the head of the national office of WAEC disclosed at a press conference in Lagos that the result was out and that 1.5 million students sat for the examination.

”Out of 1,593,442 candidates who sat for the examinations, only 616,370 candidates, representing 38.68% obtained credits in five subjects and above including English Language and Mathematics.”

JTF Arrests Hoodlums Who Killed Soldiers In Bayelsa

The Joint Task Force (JTF) in the Niger Delta says its troops have arrested six suspected pirates who recently launched an attack that killed four soldiers and a policeman in Nembe, Bayelsa state.

Lt. Col. Isa Ado, JTF spokesman, in a statement issued on Sunday night in Yenagoa said the troops destroyed a militant camp during the raid while stolen weapons were also confiscated.

I Am Resolute In Fighting Corruption – Buhari

President  Muhammadu Buhari said, yesterday, that he was unwavering in the fight against corruption in the country.

He also stated that corruption has no political party, no religion and no ethnic group and as such there would no partisanship in the fight against the scourge.

The president’s remarks followed an accusation by the Senate PDP caucus that he was selective in the anti-graft war.
