David Mark To Testify At Election Tribunal

The Nigerian National Assembly Petition Tribunal has invited former Senate President, David Mark to testify in front of the committee on Thursday, August 18th 2015.

Mark’s call up is due to the challenge by Daniel Onjeh of the All Progresses Congress (APC) over his declaration by INEC as the winner of the Benue South Senatorial election.

Onjeh is arguing that the polls was filled with electoral malpractices and substantial breaches of the Electoral Act 2011 as amended.

Nigerian Air Force Deploys More Aircraft

In a bid to finally end the deadly Boko Haram insurgency in three month Nigerian Air Force has deployed additional combat platforms to north east of the country.

Chengdu F-7 fighters have been deployed to fight Boko haram by Nigerian Air Force.

It should be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari had on August 13 tasked the new service chiefs to end the Boko Haram terrorists in three months.

Forensic Audit, Contracts Review Underway At NNPC

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, has concluded plans to conduct a forensic audit of the accounts of the state oil company and effect a fundamental restructuring to turn out a new NNPC in five months time.

The Group Managing Director of the Corporation, Emmanuel Kachikwu, who disclosed this, yesterday, in Abuja said the audit will cover 2014 and 2015.

Major part of the audit will include a review of all contracts with its joint venture partners and production-sharing agreements.

Senate Orders Probe Of Money Spent On Power Under Obasanjo, Jonathan’s Administrations

The Nigerian Senate on Thursday, August 13, set up a 13-member committee to investigate the management of funds directed to power sector since 1999.

Premium Times reports that Abubakar Kyari was appointed the head of the body, which possesses a two-week mandate to carry out the probe and file the report to the Red Chamber.
