Unknown Gunmen Attack PDP Chairman Kill One Of Is Aides

The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Degema local government area of Rivers state, Tonye Tyger and his aides were attacked by suspected armed robbers at the weekend.

Breaking News: Floods Kill 53, Displace 100,420 People In 11 States

No fewer than 53 people have died in 11 states, following flood disasters that displaced more than 100,420 persons this year.

Thousands of houses, farmlands and property worth billions of Naira were also lost to the flood disasters in many local government areas affected in the northern states.

The affected states are Kano, Katsina, Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Kaduna, Jigawa, Adamawa, Yobe, Gombe and Bauchi.

Ben Carson: No Muslim Should Be President Of The United States

Republican presidential hopeful Ben Carson said Sunday no Muslim should be president of the United States, adding a new twist to a controversy roiling the party’s White House nominating race. 

In an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Carson, a retired brain surgeon who often refers to his own deep Christian faith, was asked whether a president’s religion should matter.

“I guess it depends on what that faith is. If it’s inconsistent with the values and principles of America, then of course it should matter. But if it fits within the realm of America and consistent with the constitution, no problem,” he said.
