Herdsmen Kill Retiree Policeman And His Family Members

Fulani herdsmen in Plateau state have wreaked havoc once again. This time, herdsmen, who were suspected to have been armed with guns, on Monday, attacked and killed a 62-year-old retired police officer, Baba Jacob Wangte, and seven members of his family in the Sabon Layi area of Barkin Ladi local government area of the state.
According to the Daily Times, the victims of the attack were related to the former speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Istifanus Caleb Mwansat, who is also currently representing Pankshin South in the state assembly.

27-year-old Woman committed suicide after her husband confronted her of Cheating

A 33-year-old man is currently being investigated of the killing his wife at Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Yaba.

The 27-year-old Togolese reportedly committed suicide after her husband, Seun Alabi, confronted her over allegations of extra-marital affairs.

Her hasband insists his wife “took poison after a misunderstanding over her infidelity”. ‘My wife committed suicide because I caught her cheating’ – that’s the suspected words.

What would have been a deadly clash between supporters of the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party was averted by the operatives of the Rivers State Police Command on Tuesday.

Chad, Niger soldiers killed as Boko Haram loses Nigerian towns

About 15 soldiers from Chad and Niger died in fighting to take control of two towns in northern Nigeria from Boko Haram, the first gains against the militants in a joint offensive launched at the weekend, military sources said on Monday.
About 30 Nigerien and Chadian soldiers were wounded in the clashes over Malam Fatouri and Damasak, a day after thousands of troops crossed the border to seize areas held by the Sunni Islamist group, whose insurgency has forced Nigeria to delay an election and neighbors to mobilize their armies.
