According to the State Commissioner Fresh violence has erupted in Nasarawa state as suspected members of the Ombatse group clashed with Alago youths from Assakio Community in Lafia East Development Area.
According to the State Commissioner of Police, Umar Shehu, no life was lost in the violence. He dismissed reports that members of the National Youth Service Corp were killed during the clash but added that houses were burnt during the clash.
Eight mobile police units drawn from Benue and Plateau states are expected in the state to assist in curtailing the violence.
The violence started on Friday morning as the youths clashed in tudun Adabu and Obi town both in Obi local government area of the state.
Mr Shehu assured residents of the area that adequate measure is being put in place to protect lives and property in the area affected by the violence.
The deputy governor, Mister Damichi Luka asked the youths involved in the clash to restrain from causing further damage to the community.
